Anchor Bay Yachting Association

MRYC are proud members of the Anchor Bay Yachting Association. Our membership provides many benefits including reciprocal privileges at member clubs, a voice in the evolution of our boating environment, and a much greater ability to participate in local boating safety than we could ever do alone.

The Anchor Bay Yachting Association (ABYA) is made up of 29 member clubs in the Lake St. Clair, Anchor Bay region. Hosted social events and monthly meeting contribute to the camaraderie of the area's boat clubs.

In addition to camaraderie, the meetings offer information by visiting groups regarding local issues with Sheriff and Border Control departments, the Pride of Michigan - Sea Cadet program, some environmental projects through the Clinton River Watershed Council, as well as historical projects to Save the Lake St. Clair South Channel lights (S.O.S.).

The local charities which this association supports, is one of its most significant activities. Annual contributions to many charities using funds raised through our social events include but are not limited to:

St. Clair, Macomb and Wayne county Sheriff's Dept for equipment needed aboard the patrol vessels, No Wake navigational markers, No Wake Charts, Safety Booklets with laws and best practice information are printed and made available to 3 county Sheriff's Division.

We also fully support the Pride of Michigan - Sea Cadet program. This is a branch of the US Naval Dept. and allows young men and women the opportunity to experience actual Navy practices and theory, while operating and traveling on an actual retired US Naval vessel.

Many of our member clubs have continued to support our local charities beyond what has been done through this organization. This is what continues to make our local area a gem for all to enjoy.
