Metro Beach ‘Shakedown’ Cruise May 16-18th Hosted by the MRYC Board of Directors. Join us for what we used to call the ‘Launch Party'. Come by boat or come by car, but make sure you attend the opening event of the season. Preliminary Itinerary: Friday: 6:30p.m. will be “Docktails”. Bring your favorite appetizer or snack. Saturday : Continental breakfast at 9:00a.m. At 4:00 until ?? we’ve got a dinner and fun events being planned for all. Sunday: In the morning there will be coffee and coffee, and more coffee. Depart at your leisure. There are no fees for this event. You are only responsible for your dockage by boat or park entry fee by car. $25 / slip deposit, which goes towards your dockage (covers 24 hours). After 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, docks are first come first serve. There are only 20 wells reserved, so sign up early. Please RSVP for the dinner to Clif at 248-202-9119 or 248-577-0925. |

St. Clair ’Golf, Arts, and Crafts’ set for June 6-8th Cruise Captains: John & Sheila McWilliams and Tim & Gina Tock. (call 734-676-0916 or 313-410-3932) There are fantastic floating docks all new in 2007. Facilities include sheltered pavilions, with tables and grilles, a nice bath house, and a short walk to town. Friday: 7:00 Meet and Greet at the dock. Bring Hors D’oeuvre to pass. BYOB. We will be showing Caddie Shack on the big screen after appetizers. Saturday: Morning coffee and continental breakfast at the Pavilion. 10:00a.m. (Optional) Golf at Pine Shores. (9 holes $11, Elect. Cart $5, Pull Cart $3, shuttle provided) Visit the Arts and Crafts Show, or shop in town; Cruise the Pine River in your dinghy, or head out to the sandbar in front.Bicycle, Canoe, and Kayak rentals are available at the marina. 6:30p.m. Dinner at Pepper Joes. Your choice of: Chicken Parmesan Pasta, Grilled Steak with Blue Cheese, or Perch Dinner. Sunday: Coffee and doughnuts on dock. Noon departure. Fees: $20 per person which includes Saturday night dinner. ($10 for children under 12 who elect a kids’ meal). Cove Marina ‘Casino Night’ on for June 20-22nd The Cove Marina is a great place located in the southeast corner of Lake St. Clair, and by popular demand is being repeated again this year. The plans for the event are: Friday: Docktails in the evening. Saturday: Breakfast in the morning, followed by a Horseshoe tournament in the afternoon. In the evening we will dine at the on-site Spooters Restaurant. The featured event for the evening will be our own ‘Casino Night’, featuring Texas hold-em, blackjack, craps, and roulette (using “MacRay dollars”). Fees: $25 per boat. |

Annual Dinghy Poker Run To Be Held on July 12th Hosted by: Randy & Lisa Zimmerman and Martin & Michele Kohl. (call 586-412-5829). This years run will take you to three locations on the Clinton River; the ‘new’ River Rat restaurant, Huron Pointe Yacht Club, and The Mariner’s Club. We will start out with a 10:00am breakfast at MacRay restaurant, and afterwards your first set of cards will be issued. Then it’s “off to the races”! The final stop on the water is 3:30 in Conger Bay, where there will be a raft-off and some volleyball. Back at MacRay’s we’ll check your cards, followed by dinner (included). This year there will be raffle and 50-50 charity drawing, along with a “wacky hat” contest. Note: You don’t even need a dinghy to participate in this great event. Small boats and jet ski’s are welcome. More details will follow later. Fees: $30 per person; $10 per hand; and $5 per extra card. *Under age 18 is $10 for breakfast and dinner. |

‘Club Island Getaway’ set for July 18-19th Hosted by: Gerry & Diane Prainito’s and Clif & Brenda Chiera. (call 313-806-4201.) This is a short trip to the Clinton River Boat Club on Club Island, just a few miles away on the Middle Channel. Tentative plans include: Friday night: Dock tails. Saturday: Enjoy the amenities of the island including swimming, tennis, horse shoes and a giant play area for the kid’s. There is a ton to do here. Bring your dinghy to go exploring in Muscamoot and the canals as well. Saturday evening: Barbeque (steak and chicken) dinner. This cruise is coordinated with the help of our members Ron and Kathy James, who are also members of the Clinton River Boat Club. (In fact Ron isn’t sure, but he thinks they belong to all the boat clubs). Fees: $25 per boat, plus your dockage. |

Maumee Bay "B" is for Boat Bash’ August 22-24 Cruise Captains (band of ‘boat bosons’) are Dan & Robin Gabbert and Al & Sue Croll. (call 586-954-1534). Here is another trip back by popular demand, to Lake Erie and this fabulous resort / marina. And if you’ve never been on a cruise with these hosts, you’re in for a real treat! You’ll get more details later, but here are just some of the planned activities: “B” Dock-tails, “B” Costumes, “B” Dinner, “B” Music, and Bunches More! There is so much to do here, hiking, great golfing, swimming, racquetball, biking, and more. Plus, you get full use of all the amenities the resort has to offer. Deposit: $100 (includes 1st night's dockage). |

Frostbite Cruise Sept. 26th-28th Here’s a great fall trip to enjoy the annual Frostbite Cruise to Sarnia Bay in Ontario, located across from Port Huron on the St. Clair River. These folks throw a great party. The hot tub will be ‘warmed up’ and activities promise to make a great weekend. The casino’s are close by, as well as nice restaurants. Fees: $25 per boat. |
