Dinghy Poker Run 2007

Maybe the weather didn’t cooperate like we would have wished, but the 2007 poker dinghy run was still a fabulous day! This year’s event was hosted by members Martin and Michele Kohl and Clif and Brenda Chiera. We began the day with a buffet at MacRay’s. Participants picked up their first card and headed off to Huron Pointe Yacht Club, some by water, some by car. The sky was not looking so inviting at this point. For those traveling by boat, it was nice to see the fireplace going when we arrived at Huron Pointe! After another card pick-up, we headed to the Crew’s Inn and then right next door to Mariner’s. Our last stop in Conger Bay was windy and chilly to say the least. Unfortunately we were unable to have our volleyball game, but still managed to have fun in the water with our fellow members and guests.

Participants picked up their final cards at the bath house. Our big winner of the poker run, with a full house, was Dan Gabbert. Congratulations to Dan on his $300 victory! After the poker run hands were played, participants enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, and ribs. After dinner, several prizes were awarded from raffle tickets that were given to all participants. Special thanks to several generous vendors that made prize contributions: Mike’s Marine Supply, Carlos Pizza, Classic Boat Decks, West Marine, MacRay Harbor, and Peg Master Printing. It was a GREAT day! See you next year!
